Came off big lad yesterday and landed on my hip. Can't walk today. I was wearing my body protector and hat. I'm over 50. Is there any body armour for hips? A hip landing fall ended a friends riding career so I'm worried.

Dainese did special XC jods with exactly that sort of padding built into them.

They were called the 'Ribot' breeches - you can usually find them on eBay for £40-£60 and I've had a few pairs from my local TKMaxx for under £20 too :).

I have a JoyRiderz jacket which has hip protection for hacking. I fell off a 16.3 hh on the road and I am pretty sure the jacket saved me from serious injury. I am not sure if the company is still in business. But I wouldn't have wanted to wear it today.

I could have done with these before I fell on my right hip and got a bad haematoma and then fell on the left hip and broke it (this one is now replaced). Still riding though so will look into the jods!! I've seen the mountain horse coat - like the look of it but only as winter wear!
