any idea how mcuh hip scoring costs???

- the cost varies according to the weight of the dog as it is generally done under genral anaesthetic - my Belgians cost £75

my bitch is a 2 year old Black lab and weighs pretty much, should i start putting her on a diet if she is to have pups???

depends if she is significantly overweight - it might be a good idea to take her along to be checked by the vet not only for excess weight but for general good health etc.

we hip score under sedation and hip score plus sedation costs around £130-140 (elbow scoring costs a bit more). we are in the north tho so if you live down south expect to pay quite a bit more. if your dog is overweight your vet will advise she goes on a diet before mating her. she will struggle if she's overweight and carrying puppies. plus it doesnt do hips or elbows any good at all if she's overweight.

what!!! she's having a laugh! all it takes is a quick anaesthetic and if you're good at positioning, then just one x-ray. if i dont get it right first time i dont charge for subsequent x-rays as it's my problem for not getting the positioning right first time! then the kennel club charge something like £30 for doing the actual assessment. ask for a breakdown of what she's planning to charge you!
