Hi,

I'm on a yard on my own with my own horses and looking for help in the morning simply turning out.

I was wondering how people would go about this and how much they would be expecting to pay? Ponies can be turned out together, rugs would be left on and no feeds required. Literally a 5 minute job.

Alternatively, if grooms are paid hourly, I would be looking for 1 hours work per day and as the turnout is a 5 min job, I would be looking at skipping out as well.

To add- My mum does live on site but she's not very confident even though the horses in question are quiet. Tempted to offer my mum some financial contribution where she can turn out or bring in.

Thoughts?

Most round my way have a minimum charge of an hour, however short a time frame, plus travel on top.
'Everyone' requires their horses done at similar times morning and evening, so it can be difficult to get someone reliable as they've already been snapped up, good luck.

A friend retains her freelancer 1.5 days a week through summer to know that she will be ok to come most weekday mornings in winter. I have currently stolen her freelancer some afternoons!

You may be lucky and find someone who can turn out as they pass between other local jobs, I’d say Facebook groups would be a good place to start. We have a few people locally who are also dog walkers (all registered and insured) so this works well for them.

It depends where in the country you are I guess but I pay £15 p/hr and usually there are lots of freelancers advertising on fb
