Vet thinks original injury was bruising caused by poor foot conformation. He has enormous hooves with a very thick wall and although they look right from the outside, the underlying bone structure is all wrong. That's got better as he's rested it, but the same has now happened to the other foot as he has overcompensated and put too much pressure on it. He's going back for x-rays next week just to be sure, as I had to get to work today so didn't have enough time, and he's only slightly lame.
Anyone know if insurance will treat it as a different claim and charge me another excess? I'm hoping as it's linked it will be a continuation of the original one, but you know what insurance companies are like!
