His been!!!!

Fo Sho man.

OP I do apologise if I've upset you and I don't question your ability to use English correctly in your professional life. I could only go on that first post and stand by my rights to correct poor grammar, Nazi that I am (apparently)

There's a shop near me that had Mince Pie's for sale, recently .

Meh. It bothers me too, and it's an expression that I dislike in this context anyway. But I am both a grinch and a grammar fiend, and I don't care if anyone thinks I'm unreasonable for it ;)

If I were feeling petty I'd correct all the other errors on this thread too... Or maybe I'll save that party game for later!
Maybe, being a grammar fiend, you could start by pointing out a missing full stop and where ' were' was used in place of 'was' ;)?.

OP, enjoy the rest of your Christmas, and please keep on posting on here :).

Glad you had a lovely day Jazzy B & some great presents :) Don't let a typo put you off posting!

Horsewise I had some great gifts - HKM breeches, Horseware top, 101 dressage exercises book and a new stable name plaque. Along with the un-horsey gifts of Clinique sonic facial cleanser, Joules PJs & Pandora ring I've been very spoilt.

The icing on the cake was a break in the rain for a dry Christmas hack on my boy and spending the day eating & drinking with family. Oh, and having our first Christmas with our two rescue dogs!

Actually, on the internet, use of an emoticon / smiley is considered an acceptable alternative to a full stop - although I grant you, it is less traditional. Personally, I find the use of a full stop after a smiley aesthetically unattractive and it would incorrect to place the stop before it. Furthermore, "if I were" is perfectly acceptable as it's the subjunctive (because it's conditional) - it is actually less correct to say "if I was".

In the first hour of Christmas my true love gave to me, nothing, nada, zilch, unbelievably.

In the second hour of Christmas my true love gave to me, a swift unexpected and for the first time ever, kick to the upper thigh (and hand).

In the third hour of Christmas my true love gave to me, three massive bucks, a few shakes of her head and a dirty look that would turn the milk sour.

In the fourth hour of Christmas I chucked my true love out in her paddock and stormed off for a shower.

Ignore the grammer police, its christmas! My boy got very spoilt with a new engraved leather headcollar, showing numnah and pro sport boots for his backs as i only had fronts :) he got a bling browband too and i got a new coat and some socks! Officially spoilt 😉 hope you all had a great day :) x

I got the promise of a Janet George ID :) Can't have yet as far too much work on with our software, but once launched then I get to play again :)
Wow, Mrs M, that's a brilliant Christmas promise! Defo wouldn't have fitted under the tree, more likely would have eaten the tree.. Hope that you get your software successfully launched soon and that you can then go to choose your new neddy :).

NB will carry on using full stops after emoticons if I deem them necessary, IMHO sentences look wrong and unfinished without, so there ;).

Wow MrsM, that's super exciting! I would've liked to see it wrapped and crammed in a stocking though!

Feel free - it's a matter which is the cause of some debate, and I think it's aesthetically unpleasant, but you're welcome to disagree. Just don't state it as indisputable fact that they should be there :p
