I am thinking about investing in a hit air vest however I wondered many layers you can wear under.....

In winter I would probably be wearing a t-shirt, hoody, hi vis jacket, body protector

Summer would just be a t-shirt. I also wondered what everyone does for hi vis? I have a hi vis vest for summer but obviously it wouldnt be seen under the hit air.... I have seen the hi vis hit airs but would prefer a black one as will be using it for when we start competing.

Also - I would like the option to wear my body protector but also not wear it so will this be a problem or is the sizing flexible to allow both?

Also any feedback on the vests would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

ok so i have the hit air def worth the money! I have the medium and wear it over tshir/ vest top i summer and over layers and layers and coat in winter the waist is fairly adjustable so i have never had a problem with it. I wear my hi vis over the top just bought a big workman hi vis vest to allow for expansion. I think that is ok to do. I bought black for the same reason as you to use compeating. I mostly wear without a BP but when XC wear both. Hope it helps give hit air a ring they are very helpful!!

Same here, would say the med fits my size 10 summer wardrobe up to my 14/16 winter layers! Black ideal and just bought a large roomy yellow with weak velcro fastening that would hopefully pop off if needed

They are super adjustable. I have a large and it fits me at a size 16 top, whether Ive got on just a vest top, or thermals, t shirt, fleece, jacket and hi-viz on! It also fit a size 10 friend just by adjusting the velcro!

As for the hi viz, I had this same diliema, I ended up wearing it under the air jacket, as we were mainly off road in and a group of other hi-vizors. It still was fairly visable, but not as much as a full hi viz vest. I will add the quarter sheet etc I think next time. I wasnt so keen on putting it under the vest, as I have felt the force of it go off! and rather it would explode out the way than be constrained by a vest and wind me!

Go for it they're great. I bought mine at Burghley this year as they were on offer and I watched them being set off on the stands. I was really impressed at the neck protection they offered and how little noise they made on inflation. I have worn mine every single time I have ridden since so pence per wear they are very cheap.
In warmer weather I wore it with just t shirt underneath and loose hi-vis on top; in winter I am wearing it over a vest, jumper, fleece and coat! It easily adjusts for any clothing and I'm sure a loose hi-vis over the top is not a problem. My hi-vis just has a velcro fastening so I'm sure it would undo with the force of the jacket inflating. They are so easy to wear, you don't even notice they're on and they hopefully offer that little bit if extra protection.
