so have you, bear with me, bought him/loaned him/had him given to you/share him/look after him for a friend/part loan.....
because i get terribly confused with the lack of continuity in any of your posts............................................

Quite.
Attention seeking to the nth degree.

There is nothing wrong with the horse in this thread judging from the pics except a lack of fitness (and possibly worms), it is nowhere near a rescue case.

Good luck with your new horse Deadpan, I suggest you get on and ride it asap before you feed it too much

I stand by my orginal comment on your 1st post

I'm sorry is this for real??? Reeks of a good story to me, but on the assumption this is real and we're not all being taken for a ride, I think you did the right thing by informing the ILPH. I personally wouldn't have got on a horse if he was in the state you describe, so find it hard to understand why you and your mum would have ridden him. Finally if you can only just afford to pay for a 2* vetting, this must mean your parents are going to provide the finances to purchase/care for any horse which is brought. Thus at the end of the day it is surely their decision if this horse is brought or not.

That horse is no where near a cruelty case (was expecting stick thin and covered in sores from you description). Have you thought of writing a book? coz you sure can spin a good tale.

I wish you well with your new horse, and I am relieved that he is not in the terrible condition you described. It seems you greatly over exaggerated in order to tell a good tale, but do remember that the more 'yarns' you tell on here, the less people will believe you in future

Have to agree he seems to be lacking muscle tone more than anything. Having had an ILPH pony for many years I can tell you that they certainly wouldn't have considered him in need of their attention. Tbh they seem to have as much of a problem with overweight ponies at the moment. When Murph is hunting he is quite lean and the iLPH inspector has commented on how well he looks. But congratulations on getting him, got the feeling you might from your original post, and all the best with him. Lots of walking and he'll be a totally different pony.

You said he was in a terrible state, he looks fine to me! No wonder the RSPCA didnt do anything! Theres nothing wrong with him!

Hang on a minute guys i think your being way too harsh! A young girl has come on here asking for advice and your completely slating her. Yes ok perhaps its not an ILPH case but from the picture above i would definately not call him fat. we don't know all the circumstances surrounding this horse. Would you consider it cruel to keep a horse in a dark stable all the time? I know I would.
I hate to think that after all theses downright nasty comments she felt unable to come on here for any more advice.

In my opinion if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't post.

I have to agree that I think, as usual, some people are jumping on the band wagon. I don't think that he looks in bad nick but think that the manner in which he was kept probably caused concern and made him look worse than he is.

PS - Ty's not overly skinny here (before I brought him) but looks in rubbish condition.....

"Knabstup" - I think you mean Knabstrupper? I believe they're NOT appaloosa's, but an actual breed on their own? See: http://www.knabstrupperlink.org.uk

I believe this is the horse you spoke about in one of your previous posts:

"We met Hugo. He had a roan face and neck, and a white bum with big brown spots, a black mane and tail, and he was beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. But also absolutely starved. He was supposedly seven years old, but looked eighteen, he was so thin. His spine and ribs stuck out, and even his withers looked bad. Secondly, he had girth galls, a swollen knee, and thousands of cuts and gashes on his legs. He was so sweet! And frightened! And my heart melted, and there and then, when no-one was listening, I whispered in his ear 'Don't worry Oscar(that was what I'd have called him, it just fitted), don't worry Ozzy, I'll save you, if it's the last thing I do!' And he sort of stared at me, and I know I'm probably just humanising him, but I swear I saw hope in those big dark eyes. "

Is this the same horse or not???? The horse in the picture is certainly NOT starved and I cannot see any cuts, gashes, girthgalls etc. etc. Whats going on deadpan? We're all a little confused!

Its great you're happy with the horse and he looks lovely. But I think some of us are a bit peeved with what you said before which was clearly false. Be honest on here, and we're all nice to eachother!!

She has not been slated for any advice she has requested, in fact she has had a LOT of people's time and concern throughout the last few weeks whilst she has been looking for a horse.

I do not think there is anything wrong in pointing out the fact the horse should have been fully wormed and quarentined before integration with another horse

Ah, but when we went to pick him up, there was a big pile haylage in his stall. I thought "Oh, lovely, they listened to the inspector guy." But then it turned out that he was the only one there to have access to any. He looks a bit worse in real life then in the photos, but I do realise that I over-reacted just a teeensy bit

Look she has admitted that she over exagerrated - but you do tend to remember things a lot worse when you are feeling a bit emotional. I think this should be left alone now and personally I'm glad the pony is OK.

People like you amaze me, no wonder the Ilph didnt do anything, hope they have put you on their blacklist and that you dont waste their time again.

So you don't think these comments are nasty then. If they were directed at me i know i'd be very upset. she was only doing what she thought was right

Lets get this in perspective..she went to see a horse then there was an emotional outpouring on this website about the appaling conditions of horse and yard (certainly defamatory if not true, borderline if true)..

..and then publishes a picture of a horse that just looks as though it is coming out of winter and could do with some work, nothing worse.

This is the internet, and we are all equal but it is easy to forget that some posters are children..so yes, I think the point has been made but also think that if Deadpan wants to be treated as a responsible horse owner she needs to demonstrate a little more maturity

I agree kayleigh. Poor girl.
I would reccomend quarentine first though.
Good luck Deadpan i hope you have lots of fun together. xx

To be fair, she reported an innocent person and had them under suspicion of trying to starve an aging horse to death, engaging others into thinking how disreputable this dealer was, when the horse is not thin or old.

That is just not on, no wonder the ILPH take so long to be motivated in genuine cases when they have their time wasted like this.
