Are they just for locking up while trailer not in use?

If so what do u use to secure the trailer while it's attached to your vehicle when u leave it to go off for a ride?

My trailer is ooold so has an old fashioned rice tow attachment.

My Ifor has a lock on the tow hitch as well as the hitch lock you add when its not on a vehicle.

On my old rice the only way to secure it was a wheel clamp

I have a bulldog hitchlock for my 506. As well as locking the hitch to the car, you can put the lock on over the tow hitch while it is attached to the car, which is so useful! Not cheap, but recommend it.

Of course it does also depend on what you are towing it with.

Apparently my Defender is even more likely to be stolen than my Ifor. So by locking them together I would ensure they took both instead of just one of them :eek:::mad:

Just something to bear in mind, do not lock your hitch whilst you are moving as if the worst happens and the trailer turns over you want it to come off the hitch and not take the car over with it.
