both of the girls have got lumps across their shoulders, very hive-like, not remotely itchy or bothering them but bothering me!
thing is, lily came up in them a few weeks ago, asked the vet to have a look when she was out for her leg and she didn’t really say much, wasn’t concerned at all but no suggestions as to what to do - understandable, horse is lame who cares about a few lumps lol.
diva had them already when she came to me, again not remotely bothersome to her but hers are more obvious and unsightly, not to mention generally worrying for both of them.
i think antihistamines is a good idea to see if it does anything, but i’m not sure what to use/how much to give.
for background, both of them came up in them on different yards obviously so i don’t think it’s anything to do with that, and they’re not getting any worse, they just aren’t going away! i’ve tried washing lilys with triscrub but it made no difference, haven’t done anything to divas yet. the only similarity is that they’re both bay welsh mares! im wondering if maybe it’s just a seasonal thing since it’s spring, and coincidental that i happen to have 2 that are affected by it? looked at another thread, and they do both get carrots, but i doubt diva had any when she came up in them and lily has been having them the whole time i’ve had her anyway. feed wise, again doubt it’s this as diva already had them and i don’t think she was even getting a feed, and lilys hasn’t changed.
apologies for the essay, my main point is how many antihistamines do i give them
