Hives !!!

One of my horses keeps
Suffering with hives last week came up vets started on antihistamines 10 twice a day the. Settled well and then came up again , still on meds currently anybody's else had problems with hives recently ? X x

My horse came up in hives at the beginning of the year. He's never had them before.
I thought it a coincidence that they had come up a couple of days after I started adding cod liver oil to his feed. I stopped it and they went within the week.
Has there been any changes to your horses feed or routine however small?

Dolly had them for a while, we tried lots of things inc anti hists.

Turned out she was struggling with haylege. Since changing to soaked hay, she's 100% fixed.

Worth considering? X

Edited to add: she was fine with haylege for 18mths before the hives started. It may have been a weird batch but we're not changing back just in case. So perhaps a different batch of haylege or hay is worth a try just to rule it out? X

Hi thanks for replies , has not had any change in routine and been on same quality chaylae for a whole. Ow , suspect it is the pollen as only coking Up once been out in the field and has settled within a few hours of him
