Hello , I am looking to buy my mum a seat saver as she wants to ride more often but keeps getting very sore seat bones!

I'm currently torn between the Heather Moffat or the Acavallo Gel In (doesn't want stickiness). Currently using a cheap fake dead sheep which is helping but no where near good enough!

I don't think sheepskin would be very practical for any rainy weather or would consider the Lemieux (I love their stuff! )
Also heard one of them goes hard in the cold weather

Thanks ! :)

I had exactly this dilemma the day before yesterday. I went for the Acavallo gel in one, and I am really pleased with it. Did a 21km endurance ride on it today, it didn't move, looked very smart, wasn't too hot despite it being about 23c here and best of all my seat bones are saved :D

You can get an extra thick one as well but not sure if that's just in the gel out version. Horse health are very good.

I've had both and much preferred the Acavello. It's more comfortable than the HM, it fits better to the saddle, is more streamlined and generally a much better product all round. I have the gel out and don't find it too sticky even with full seat breeches. It's so squishy and soft and helps me stay in place on my super spooky idiot horse so def gets my vote over HM.

I had the gel in and sold it, as I couldn't feel much difference. I then bought the gel out, predominantly for stickability but actually, it's a lot more squishy and comfy than the gel in and isn't sticky as such - just gives you a feeling of more stability. Can't comment on the HM product (could on the owner however after she came on the forum!).

I remember vaguely HM after coming on the forum! does put you off buying her products I must admit.

You are swaying me towards the gel out now, everyone seems to like them!

I've had both, too and prefer the Acavallo. I also have the gel out. They're only sticky when they first come out of the bag. IIRC the Acavallos are also much cheaper! I recently started riding in a new saddle and oh my God, the horror of trying it without my beloved pad! Next ride was 100% better. I don't know how I coped without it!
