It's sort of horsey! Well, it will be picking up horse hairs lol

Wooden floors downstairs with big rugs, carpeted stairs and all top two floors.

Thoughts? Suggestions? On a postcard please

Currently have a Henry, or in our case we call it Hopeless

Lol, tried that SU - had to ask her to clean the loos

; she cleaned the wooden floors with the water from the kitchen floor (cold and yuck by then!); and could see where she'd swiped round with a duster.

Think the vc will be less hassle (plus, that what we have kiddettes for lol).

Ah. Was looking at the Dyson pet and wondering if it worth the extra over the lightweight normal rollerball one. I think we still have the turbo head from the last Dyson (replaced so many parts on it it was practically new!).

Not a Dyson!!!!! We have an all singing allergen/animal Dyson and not impressed! Will not buy again... Have heard excellent things about Henry and Miele.

I have a Vax which has the ability to suck the floor covering off the floor. It is quite easy to take apart to retrieve things when it eats something it shouldn't

It swallowed a torch last week, and a pair of socks. So it copes very well with the odd dog hair

I have this one. It's fabulous, NOTHING else (not even a dyson) could cope with all 4 cats and pony hair on our carpets and floors. It's simple to empty and very easy to use too. I went through a Dyson, two vax cylinders a vax upright , two own brands, and a morphy richards hoover before I got this. I am especially hard on my hoovers and this has lasted me 18 months so far with no trouble and still picks up pet hairs as well as the day we bought it. The ONLY downsides are it needs emptying every time I do the whole house (whereas the dyson could cope with it being done twice), there's no onboard storage for the tools and that you have to wash the filters every couple of months. Oh and it sounds like a rocket taking off, but that's the brushes getting into the carpet and getting up the pet hairs. It looks funky too

Ah. I have to admit to killing three Dysons

. The last one had so many new parts it was practically new, but didn't get a replacement warranty as well. It was good for the first go after the filter had been cleaned, but then was pants

.

The Henry has had it

. Nooooooooooooo suction whatsoever despite surgery.

The Miele was good, but I gave it away to sister (daren't get another as hubby whinges everytime he remembers

).

Love the look of the PetCyclonic thingy

Hate buying hoovers....

It was about £70, which in comparison to the dyson is nothing...

If you've got neighbours who don't appreciate noise then it's not a good choice, it 's VERY noisy!! But I love mine.
