Not sure if I should bother claiming, the total bill is £50 over my excess (of £300, i really thought I'd had it reduced

)....

the hassle of claim forms though, but I will need to let them know anyway so is it worth getting £50 out of it? decisions...

I would, that's what you're paying for.

£50=
new pair of shoes
new rug
6 bags of feed

all for a bit of ink and a stamp!

The only thing to consider is whether your insurance company will omit your horses injury/ailment from your next renewal? Sometimes it's worth paying the vets bill and save your insurance for the big bills.

As you'll probably have to tell you insurers anyway I'd probably claim as if ever the problem occured again if within 12 months with most policies you'd still be covered as a continuation.

Depends on problem as to whether you'll get an exclusion at renewal and this isn't always affected by you claiming or not anyway.
