So, I have a beautiful, but difficult & opinionated mare, (as some of you may know from previous posts!). Anyway, I have been working her really hard with a new instructor & she has been going really well, getting better week by week and upping her workload, she has become more willing, more powerful & more supple, really working over her back too which is lovely.

However, I was riding her this morning and she may as well have been on springs.

no brakes, no steering & horse eating monsters everywhere.

It has just dawned on me that I have a very fit, well muscled & supple horse who is now full of spring grass and feeling very well indeed.

Yikes!

Hmmm...you can certainly tell the grass is coming through now can't you? Glad to hear she is going better now, though - hopefully she'll put her new found energy to good use

Yay!

Don't they supply parachutes with the lessons any more then?!

Have fun. Of course, with all those lessons you should be fitter too, only fair, tit for tat; she's just giving you some of your own medicine!

Ah yes, this sounds familiar. Mare in lovely condition, fit, strong, really well-muscled, raring to go...can I hold her? Can I b*llocks !

Best of luck. Tell you what, if i see yours coming towards me, I'll catch her, if you'll do the same for mine.
