Hobbles for travelling

Slightyconfused he is an absolute poppet to lead in and out of the trailer. Its just when he is tied up the kicking starts. I will try a partition, tie him up longer. Not sure how I can extra pad the trailer ramp?

Hobbles are barbaric?! Ok... I'll just let Fig put his feet through the back of the lorry into the cab again. Lets just hope he walks away again with only a few scratches the second time...

Hobbles all the way. Use the space they naturally leave themselves as a guide (Fig is base wide behind).

He has traveled internationally, will load and unload himself. It is pure impatience.

Prefer my horse with 4 legs and 4 feet and he now travels like a lamb :)

There is a company on ebay that makes thick pads that you hook over the top of the ramp (hooks look pretty secure) theirs are to protect the quarters but I am sure bigger ones could be made. When you let the ramp down you unhook and remove the pad before unloading the horse

You can also buy felt covering boots as worn by mares who might kick the stallion while being covered. This would deaden the sound and lessen the impact on the trailer and the horse's joints.

I will try a few more things. Thank you all for your advice and opinions. Obviously my main aim is for the horse to be relaxed and safe and if it means he is hobbled then so be it but I will try a few other things first.
