The dog must have been confined as most dogs would scavenge for some food surely?

That is absolutely disgusting, poor poor dog. BUT,and I suspect I am going to get abuse for my opinion, wouldn't this poor lad be better being pts after a few days of tlc. It says on the other forum that he has good and bad days and has trouble walking. To my mind it is going to be quite a long time before he has any quality of life and maybe he just deserves a peaceful end.

This is terrible. I know when I first looked at this story I wasn't prepared for that shocking picture of that poor, poor dog. It completely stunned me that anyone could let a dog get in that state. I know what I'd like to do to them

. Bless him. It does make you think that PTS would be the kindest option, but of course the people caring for him now may think he could pull through. Whatever happens , at least he will be cared for now.
 
I'm sure no-one will keep him going if it is deemed he's suffering too much, lets hope he pulls through.

The people who did this should be starved themselves, such a handsome loyal dog reduced to skin and bone.

Murphys Minder. Yes he looks like a living skeleton, but while he still shows the will to live, on his good days, I believe he should be given a chance. It's too soon to judge his quality of life, but I'm sure he's in the care of experts and they will be able to judge if he's giving up.

I hope he makes it.
 
how could anyone let a dog suffer like that i cante it, believe it what bastards. They need hanging i hope poor doggie fully recovers and has a long and happy rest of his life, with nice people.

How could anyone do that to a poor animal that depends on you to care for it. F***ers!!!

I hope to god in a month's time they will have a photo of him looking ten times better!!!
 
I saw this on our local news and I was horrified - I couldn't work out what breed of dog it was.
The PDSA say they didn't want to put it to sleep as it had such a lovely nature that they thought it was worth giving him a chance.
I wish I could have 10mins with the people who did that to him.
 
I really am losing faith in what is supposed to be a country of animal lovers. Starving animals, setting stables alight, stabbing horses etc etc. Sickos

My GSD currently asleep at my feet weighs over 8 st. I can't believe they are the same breed...

My god that is truly awful - that's really shocked me. What a will to live that dog must have. I agree with giving him a chance but if he doesn't pick up then I'm sure the best thing will be done by him.

I can't believe he lived through that...but it will be a hell of an ordeal to recover from, his system must be wrecked.

Whatever happens, at least he is now in a place where he will know kindness and care.
