I don't have experience of the upper joint arthritis but my vet tells me that Arthmid is particularly good for high mobility joints such as that one
Theg do usually start with steroids though to bring in the inflammation sown but they may decide to follow with Arthmid a few months down the line.

Yes my 9yo has arthritic changes in this joint due to a collateral ligament (hock) injury 3yrs ago. It was last medicated in July, prior to that Feb 20. Planning to go with arthramid early next year.

Yes old horse had arthritis in hocks, the above joint is harder to treat than lower. Gel injections in joint then cartrophen injections which I had done yearly she carried on for another 10 years light hacking. Also a good joint supplement make sure it has HA as an ingredien.

My Welsh Cob was diagnosed with this at 8. He didn't have any treatment as the vet said it was pointless really in that particular joint. I was told it was the more problematic of the hock arthritis problems. He's 22 now and has, bar 6 months after diagnosis where he was resting a ligament injury, been in fairly consistent work since then. He is only a hack - that's my choice, but has been used for endurance type hacking, since then. He bounces around the place, even now at his age. I initially gave him a high spec joint supplement, but haven't bothered for a good few years now.

Mine had just had a bone scan and a lameness work up and Tildren or Osphos has been recommended. Has your vet mentioned those ?

nope.. only currently suggested steroids with maybe arthramid later on if a good response to steroid, theres not much joint space left. Huge bone spurs on the upper joint and just a mess really

If there's not much joint space then it may be difficult to get the arthmid in. I'd ask your vet about Tildren too.
