My mare has developed lameness in both her near fore and near hind - she had a full bone scan yesterday and showed a definate hot spot on the pedal bone of the fore leg, as well as some changes in both hocks and sacroiliac joints(!). We are now embarking on more nerve blocks, xrays etc, but just wondering if anyone has any experience of either problem?
The fore leg lameness is moderate in trot, but sound at walk, and no heat /swelling anywhere.
The hind lameness is more severe stiffness I guess, she struggles to lift the leg for shoeing etc - but vet says changes on the bone scan are not enough to be causing this as the changes are about even in both hocks!!
hope this makes sense to someone, it's bad enough trying to fix one lameness, now we have two at the same time! I just want her to come home
