Hocks being fused

Has anybody had any experience having their horses hocks fused surgically? We have tried tildren and cortisone injections in my pony and now having to look at surgically fusing them. So any info would be gratefully recieved.

My pony had an athrodesis op at Leahurst a few years ago. Was on box rest for a while after with slowly increasing walking out in hand. He hasn't had any problems with his hock since then and had been in a lot of pain before the op. I'm sure your vet will talk you through the pros and cons of the op.
