Cob will be 5 this year, just brought her back into work after almost a year off. This year am hoping to take to a few local shows and hopefully hunting in the winter :)
I last hogged her in June, now her mane is growing back nicely and she has a full forelock now :)
I was however thinking i may hog again when the weather picks up and the show season gets into full swing!
All different ages on these pics :)

What do you think?!

I liked the hogged look, and I liked the full wild natural mane, but i'm afraid i didn't like the pulled mane.

Someither grow it out, or cut it off.

I like both the hog and the long locks. I don't like pulled manes on anything other than stringy haired types unfortunately. Beautiful horse btw :)

If you decide to hog and show as a cob, you need a far more substantial bridle, given the amount of white on the head.
I'd have a 2" noseband, 1" - 1 1/4" browband and 3/4" cheek pieces plus wider reins, 3/4" and 5/8" for a double bridle, anything else will be lost and make her head look common.

Okay so the pulled look is out!

JNB i love that bridle, was it especially made as i know bridles of that thickness are hard to come by as a whole?

Yes - I had it made by Morris & Nolan in Walsall, and it was around £95 including reins!
I just rang them and asked it they could do it, they said yes ( I had a list of measurements and sizes) and it was there 2 days later!
For instance, my cob is XF on noseband and browbands but Full everywhere else and I ordered 1 pair 3/4" laced reins and one pair plain, spliced (no buckle) 5/8" reins.
The quality is very, very good. Fylde also do bespoke fittings but are, ahem, not very accurate in what you get! And their sizes apparently are small.

Well not pulled, I know that much;).

Personally, I like her hairy, but that's just because I have this thing about hogging coloureds - I like to see coloureds fluffy and full:D. She has a lovely white mane that it seems a shame to snip off. Oh, and I don't like the idea of hogging a mare... somehow I feel it takes away her femininity:o:o.

But she certainly has the right 'look' about her to pull of hogged physically.

In a nutshelll, she looks prettier with a full mane but smarter hogged, so you can decide, do you want her pretty or smart?
