Hogged cob!

Well, he is meant to be 15.3, but my vet always reckoned he looked to be touching 16, I've never actually measured him, but recently got one of those walking sticks with a measuring stick in it, that OH needs to restore, so might finally get around to doing it properly. :D

Oh yes...

When we were at our old livery yard, when we first got him, we took the discovery into the field as we were repairing a fence and had all the tools in the boot...

He peeled the rubber off all wipers, scratched his teeth on the wing mirrors, smashed all lights etc by crunching on them, and dented the door by rubbing his bum on it...OH cried...haha!

After two hefty vets bills for choke, he now gets his feed in 'soup' form, so he can be a pig without danger!

When we got to the field we have now, he FORCED himself through a MASSIVE hedge and decided to go walkabouts around the village. No-one could get near him, not even my instructor! OH was closest so when the calls came, he trundled along, and the police officer apparently howled with laughter, because when OH shouted his name, he trotted along quite happily and followed him back into the field!

These are just a couple of tales, he's caused some grief in his time, I can tell you! NEVER leave anything within his reach if you value it!

He adores being bathed with the hosepipe, and often grabs it to soak you back...

:p
LOL he sounds like a right character! He's very sexy-cob - Me likey!

I have a tweed jacket and a matching tie, not got a coloured shirt though...sort of a beigy one you think? I don't know, not done showing in years, and never properly as it gets on me wick! :D

Wow, he's gorgeous!
A nice, plain hunter bridle and rugby pelham (don't forget the bridoon slip if not on a double bridle) will be totally fine. In the individual, it is 'correct' to show an extension in the canter (rings are never big enough to gallop), my cob just doesn't 'get' that bit though. We disguise it by getting him very collected on the turn then, basically, dropping the reins on the straight.
Good luck, by the looks of him you'll do well and have a bit of fun.

sorry haven't been on here. That should be fine. Good luck and piccies pls :D

he's beautiful x

Thanks!

I've just bought a pair of laced reins to go with the plain ones I have, and have also managed to find a bradoon headslip that matches his bridle. I just need to dig out the spare lip strap I know I have lurking in the tackroom somewhere....

Found the rugby pelham and gave that a dust-off!

...ooo, must dig out the tweed jacket, I think it's a tad dusty, I better get it to the dry-cleaners! (~coughwoolwashinwashinhmachine!~) and lay my hands on my brown tie....

:D

Hahahaha!

Well, I won't be wearing the tweed, I'm too fat for it....hahahahahahaha!

OH is rolling around on the floor in tears....well, I last wore it about 8 years ago...

Hahahahhaa!

~gets on ebay to start searching for emergency jacket, meanwhile, Operation 'Fat DS' gets underway~

Hahahahaha!

:D

OK, had to do it....bought a new tweed off Barnstomers, just under £80, don't mind that, didn't wanna be forking out over £100....!!!

...can be taken in by seamstress sis-in-law as Operation Fat DS gets underway...

Hahahahaha!

....sorry, but it's really tickled me, just worked out I last wore my old tweed 10 years ago, according to the pictures....

Did I really think I'd fit in it??

:D

He's gorgeous! It reallly suits him, he's definitely got the neck to pull it off. Good luck with showing him when you do x

LOL I have a few pair of (slightly dusty) jodhs hiding at the bottom of the pile. I keep telling myself 'some day they WILL fit' My son will probably grow into them before I manage to shrink enough. Anyhows, back to the pringles :D
