A few horses at my friends yard have got lice along with a show pony. They have all had their manes hogged to make killing the lice easier. So the question is will there manes ever grow back normally? or will they stick up like mohicans forever:confused:

I bought my horse at the beginning of September with a hogged mane, and it's only just starting to flop over now.... and he still looks ridiculous half the time!

I think it's going to take a year before his mane looks normal tbh

No they won't stick up forever fatty had a hogged mane when he arrived in the April by October it was a proper but short mane .
You need to plait them over as soon as you can and keep them plaited undoing and combing through every few days before replaiting you could never guess now fatty had ever been hogged .
If you can afford it Farriers Formula makes their hair grow fast so if your desparate it's an option .

I am also worried incase my ponies catch lice i will have to hog there manes, as long as the mane flops over eventually ( by the time he is 3 he is 1 at the moment) I won't worry too much, hopefully they won't get lice though:)
