Hogging - last time!

D-Day for clipping (and maybe hogging..) is fast approaching.

What do you vote for, hog or not?

She is 14.2, 9 inches of bone.

I’m just beginning to get good at plaiting manes, and if I hog, no more plaiting… and her forelock is so cute. Buuut she’d look very smart hogged I think? Or does she have too much white on her face? Her feather is already gone… BIG improvement.

Would I be able to do WH(P) if she was hogged or does she need to be plaited? And since she’s 148 we can do show cob classes too if we hog, can’t we… (local level only)

Also I’m trying to grow out her pulled tail, and it’s long enough to do a plait now, but WOW it’s soo thick is there anything I can do to thin without looking pulled?

Regarding the tail, I part it and find the bottom of the dock bones and cut a chunk out there. Thins the bottom a lot without it showing at all.

If you hog then correct turnout is a pulled tail so if you do not want one leave the mane for plaiting.

I think hog- she would suit it and is quite a smart little mare there.

I have natives and wanted to hog her so don't take my word for it! Lol

You could hog and leave the foredeck like they do in S.America?

Maybe not if you're showing

Or plait the foredeck and confused the judges?
