Hi, I am thinking of holding a Fun Dog show, I was hoping to donate all proceedings to the Dogs Trust.:).

The Classes i was thinking of having were:
1.Registered breeds.

2.Dog most like its owner.

3. Agility.

4. Crossbreeds.

5. Best veteran. (Over 7 years.)

6.Best in show.

I am looking to hold the whole thing in a big feild. Can anyone give me an insight into appoximatly how much this would cost, taking everything into account? Or any useful suggestions?

Without a companion show license you limit your entry as anyone who shows under KC rules agrees not to enter unrecognised events and the £20 a license + insurance cost is probably less than independent insurance.

Is it illegal to hold a dog show without kennel club license or insurance?I would provide other insurance. And if i don't call it a companion dog show? Just because the kennel club is very particular, and this was only going to be a very small event.

Just a thought but could you tag it onto a yard show? I did this for a few years. the yard has a couple of very small shows every year and (after consulting the insurance company) was assured a fun dog show would be covered too.

I ran it during the lunch break and had the same sort of classes as you.
