Holding your own show

Wow. I never before appreciated the time, effort and MONEY that goes into running a show! I have the land, I have the sponsors, I do not yet have insurance....(need to ring round more companies!) but I do have a very lovely friend with a lot of contacts willing to help me. I am getting ready to start finalising lists, classes, pricing up and ordering in - so before I do, has anyone had any previous experience with this and are there any things to watch out for / include?!

Don't forget parking, stewards and first aid , refreshments , seating and amusement for non horsey relatives.

British riding clubs provide a guide book for show organisers you can get it from their website, lists everything you could ever think of

I'm on the committee of a village charity show which we organise every year. We use NFU for insurance - give them a try. Yes its a massive effort!
