My friend and I are going to have a long weekend away with our horses over the summer, probably in north Yorkshire, but could be swayed into other nearby counties! We want to enjoy good hacking, field for horses and accommodation for us, preferably good pub and food near by. Any suggestions?

Sounds Great, keep nagging my parents or grandparents to take me and my horse to the beach for the weekend :D Still aint lol hopefully one day though. I know in Wales you could go to the Gower lovely place and there are stables for your horses, beaches, off road hacking, hills, and loads of places for you and your horse!! x

Wales is lovely, but bit too far from us to take horses. Think we will have some beach practice first at Redcar!

One of the most memorable days of my life was when I took my first horse (back in 1984) to the beach at Redcar! It was something I had yearned to do for as long as I could remember...
There used to be a place where you could take your horse on holiday at Hamsterly Forest, Co. Durham lovely hacking there, but can't remember the name, sorry...

Canter Hallington in North Lincs is a great venue. Not sure how long it would take you to box there. The beach at Theddlethorpe is outstanding, miles and miles of beach and hardly a soul in sight when we were there.

i would love to go on a horsey holiday my mum keeps saying that me and a friend should go on one we just cant get round to it :P

We're north of Leeds. North Lincs is do-able as good motorway to get there. I will take a peak at Theddlethorpe!
Will also have a look at the BHS B + B book. Thank you!

I think Northumbria is supposed to be nice for riding. I know it has a lot of beaches. I've been there on walking holidays and always thought how nice it would be to ride there, but never done it.....
