I am wondering what is the average cost for holiday livery and what you would expect for the price.

we are in cornwall and have an indoor school, outdoor school and small cross country course. Stable and turnout. Miles of off road hacking along the flat load.

we are wondering wether alongside our full liveries that holiday livery in the summer may be a good idea.
TIA

It sounds idyllic. How would your liveries feel though? Do you have separate yard for the holiday horses?

Liveries are out 24/7 in the summer so only come in when being ridden.
We have 30 stables and only 20 horses on the yard.
40+ acres of grazing with way more grass than they can eat!

Are you near a beach or some other tourist attractions?
Did you mean flat road hacking - the narrow lanes in Cornwall can be a nightmare to drive on in summer season - hacking would be worse.

Have a look at field farm in Lincolnshire - they offer something similar and might help with pricing.

I'd imagine quarantine might need to be thought through so making sure you have separate stables not near liveries and separate fields again with no shared taps/ gate handles etc. Or people bringing strangles/ flu / ring worm etc in might be a bit more of a pain that £10 a night would be worth.

If you're near local competitions than maybe advertise for stabling for those too?

Beach is probably 20 mins away in a horsebox, too far to hack.
Not flat roads? the great flat lode is 7.5 miles of bridleways and old mining trails directly from our doorstep.
You can hack to carn brea castle and the old mining buildings.
we have separate fields away from the yard

Your facilities sound great. Do you do your own B&B? I'd want the livery to be very near my own accommodation . I'd be nervous of dumping my horse in a strange field then driving off. Maybe that's just me - horse very chilled but mum has dreadful separation anxiety!

Making sure that the holiday liveries and the regular liveries is separated would be key. You'll probably need to divide the spare fields into smaller spaces, depending on how many horses you expect to have at any one time. Another thing to think about is rider accommodation: are there places to stay locally, could you let them camp, etc? Do you have space for horse boxes? There's an FB group for Horse B&Bs iirc; that might be a good place to go and get an idea of what people look for.

Lots to think about, but good luck with your venture!
