Holidays? Are you or aren't you having one?

I wouldn't thank you for one - unless hossies were coming too. Don't do abroad, and don't do anywhere busy. Best holiday EVER was a week near Knighton, Powys, staying with our pony and horse. Rode every day and soaked up the Welsh sun. Relaxed and unwound, just me and one of our kids.

The others and Dad got 'drowned' staying in the caravan in Cumbria and came home after two nights!

I honestly can't understand why your new horse will take months to settle in, and it's a bit insulting to everyone else that you wouldn't trust a capable yard owner to care for it.

Eh??! Insulting what are you talking about? I have my horse in a field with a field shelter! No livery yard owner for me to ask to look after my youngster ( what a luxury that would be now!) I can't just ask my friends to take care of a 2 year old whilst I go away for two weeks.
I know how problematic youngsters can be I ve had two before.
It would be an insult to ask them to take on the responsibility.

As for livery yards looking after youngsters so well, I have had several friends whos young horses have not been care for at all well and have sustained severe injuries due to bad management, so no I would not be doing that even if I had the choice.
