Holidays for your horse: how long?

How long off per year do you give your ponio (in this post, holiday equals turned away)? Not necessarily for those who are seriously competitive and of course, each horse and circumstance is different, but for the happy hackers (of which I am proudly one), do you give your horse an extended holiday period each year and if so, for how long?

I dont at all, she may get a week off if i go away myself. But she doesnt have a set holiday in the year. Even if shes ridden every day, its not usually for more than a couple of hours (if hacking) - she has the other 22hours of the day off

we tend to get unplanned breaks of about a month due to injury, weather etc. so don't tend to plan them

She doesn't have a holiday really but I can't ride in the week in winter except xmas hols so she has plenty of time chilling in the field

Happy hackers don't need holidays. If they do, then they're not very happy.

They are, after all, happy hackers

my eventer had 2 months on hols when the season finished.
