Any tips or recommended sites for looking up accommodation?

Camping is probably out because I don't think there's any way Ivy would settle down if she can hear critters outdoors, and when I helped my mum put up a tent in her garden the other week Ivy got a bit worried when it flapped around over her head.

Ivy has been to stay with family with us before and she generally manages this quite well/sometimes prefers this to our own house because they have bigger gardens! Once she's got 'her' spot to go settle down on she's quite happy. She's not keen to settle down in the room we sleep in which is same as at home, and sometimes her preferred spot is slightly odd/annoying (at SiL it's their downstairs loo for some reason!) We do get there eventually and try to put her bed down as near to where she wants to be as possible.

Probably a self-catering something would be best but I'm also thinking about trying a night in a dog-friendly pub with rooms to see how we get on!

We're lucky to have family who enjoy having her and that she makes herself a good house-guest, it would be nice to plan some trips where she can come with us too :)

We usually take P dog over to the Isle of Wight each autumn, we go to a holiday park at Nodes Point that has chalets, basic but usable in all weathers. (They do have lodges and holiday caravans too)
It's a short 5 min walk through their camping field to get onto the beach. Usual holiday park pool, restaurant and bar etc, we've found it ideal for a 4 night break in term time, arriving Monday. Once booked they give you a code to get a heavily discounted ferry booking.
We did try a caravan but she didnt settle so well, so chalet it is! Basic but a good base.
Worth looking at?

I’ve stayed at a few of these cottages around Norfolk. They are all lovely and genuinely dog friendly (unlike a different place I stayed at that claimed to be dog friendly but in reality only sort of tolerated dogs). Norfolk is also generally very dog friendly.

East Ruston cottages in Norfolk are very dog friendly and lots of eating places in Norfolk are dog friendly .. We have also found dog friendly accommodation with Sykes Cottages.. my friend and I have 5 dogs between us and have managed to find accommodation with both of these companies..

I stay in self catering cottages every year with my dogs, usually in Scotland. There are various fb groups now specifically for people advertising or searching for dog friendly cottages so worth joining some of those.

We book through Canine cottages as they accept multiple dogs - we have 3 , I hate camping so that's a no!! We have a dog holiday each year and have recently had a lovely time on Exmoor, then we have a dog free holiday too, as taking the dogs can be hard work!

We usually book something on a farm so plentiful walks from the doorstep, Hoseasons also have lots of pet friendly accomodation if you just have 1 or 2 dogs. I will definately book through Canine cottages again and am eyeing up our next break!!

We love Northumberland and use Coquet Cottages, they have lots that are dog friendly. They are not the cheapest but honestly every cottage we have used has been lovely.

I’m currently at Balmaghie Dog friendly holidays in Dumfries and Galloway . Absolutely brilliant for dogs , 18 acres of fully fenced woodland that you can basically lock yourself in. Only real negative is cr*p phone/4g , so this may not post ! 😏

Great to hear a recommendation for Canine Cottages. I get their emails and been wondering if the places are as good as they look/what the service was like.
