I am stuggling to find a lot of information about riders with hollow backs.
Do you have one, if so what exercises or advice does your instructors give you to try and improve your position?
Thanks

Mary Wanless talks alot about hollow backs, lots of people do this without realising. I'd look on her website (do search for Mary Wanless) and get some of her books. If you are hollow back your seat bones are facing backwards - so you need to think of drawing your pulling your stomach backwards and rolling your pelvis underneath you more (you can do this with your hands on your hips and feel your pelvis moving. Indeed practice on a chair in front of mirror and you will clearly see the move you need to make, then practise on a horse!

I hope this helps? I suffer from the opposite - round backed chair position and often when you try to correct you will go to the other extreme! Guess thats why horse riding is so interesting!!!!

Thanks, I don't actually suffer from it. (If anything I am more round backed - from sitting at the computer on HHO I guess

) I am in need of some exercises to help a person with a hollow back for a small presentation. Thanks a lot
