Hi,

I know a few of you have asked for an update so here we go....

Well she has calmed down a lot over the last month or so.

She is now listening to the basic commands like sit, wait, off, bed and stop.

We cant seem to get down or lie down but we will keep trying!!

My friends have commented on how much she has changed and they all know when the come in they are to ignore her until she sits quietly in her bed and if she starts to jump up they are to turn away from her and ignore her until she is quiet again. It now only takes this happening 1-2 times before she doesn't bother to jump up.

There wasn't a problem with her on the lead before and she is still lovely when on the lead. I haven't let her off yet.

She has developed 1 problem in the last few week and that is that she is now petrified of the microwave!!! She will sit in the corner of the room and shake or she will go and sit at the top of the garden until she is sure it is off!!!! No idea where this has come from!!

Here are some recent pics of her (sorry if they are huge)

Aah look at that lovely face, the pics with the bone that is nearly as big as her made me laugh.

You have come on in leaps and bounds and done wonders, thank goodness she has settled and you can enjoy a social life again.

The only thing I can think to suggest for the microwave is to get her to sit as close as she is comfortable with and use a clicker, click and treat, keep repeating until she gets closer. If at anytime she regresses just go back to her comfort zone and repeat again. Also I would try putting her feed bowl as close as she is comfortable with and gradually move closer. I would say she is probabley still a little bit insecure but be confident and keep doing what you are doing.

Well done for sticking with her, Im sure she is a dog to be proud of and thank you for the update.

Hi ladyt25,

Yes this is the girl I was going to send back.

I am so glad I didn't and decided to stick with her.

We still have our bad days but these are getting a lot less frequent now.

Thanks

So so pleased you stuck by her, she sounds much "better" than Dex already, and we have had the ginger gobshite 7 months now!

My lord, she is lovely, so pleased to hear that things have settled down and she is settling in. You have come so far in such a small space of time.
