holsteiner

chestnut in my signature is half holsteiner his dad was a grade a international show jumper. Ralph has had about 4 weeks off jumping and we popped him over 1m (after warming up over smaller fences) tonight no problems he is only 6 and definitely on the way to being something special

Yes.

In Germany the region where the horse was bred determines the breed. A horse bred in the area around Hannover is a Hannovarian, Westphalia- Westfalian etc. I'd be more interested in the particular bloodlines.
The picture of the horse loose jumping is from the hannovarian gradings but may have Holstein parents

My mare is 1/2 Holstein - her sire is HOL (Temple Carone)... bloodlines go back to Landgraf, Cor de la Bryere and Ramiro Z, Ramiro Z being one of the most prolific show jumping stallions of his time...

Lexi learning to jump.....

updates on www.alexbull.co.uk
thank you guys

I have just looked at your website. How on earth can you call yourself an "equine agent" and start this thread by saying:

hi there, does anybodu know anything about holsteiner's and weather they are good showjumpers?

That hardly strikes me as a person who knows what they are speaking about. Anyone who has an ounce of knowledge would be too embarrassed to even ask this question on a public forum, especially one who claims to be an agent.

Excuse me but that really is nothing to do with you! I am a young rider, who is desperately trying to find ways to make riding a profitable business, and these posts enable me to be able to learn more about horses, and i am not one to be afraid of asking for help unlike many others, this means that i am constantly learning and improving my knowledge, which i feel for 17 years old is pretty good, but personally have never come across Holstein for show-jumping before, knew about them for dressage. And so i think that you making rude remarks is unnecessary and it people like you who stop young people being able to make horses profitable and also stop others from feeling confident asking questions, out of fear of being judged!

I am not stopping anyone from learning or making money. You are advertising as being an "equine agent", and as such you should know what you are doing, as people are paying you for a service. Why should you expect people to pay you to look for horses if you have admitted that you have limited experience of doing so. That would be the same as someone going to a car dealer who does not know makes and models of cars. You have posted this information on a public forum, including the web link to your homepage, and therefore people have the right to make comment.
