another year nearly gone  December is looming. What has everyone got planned for the weekend?

I'm hatching a plan to ride Darcy indoors at trainer's again either today or tomorrow. Then a non-horsey interruption as OH got tickets to watch Wales V Barbarians in Cardiff at a charity auction a while back... not my scene but apparently I am going o_O

Sunday taking Darcy to another little show, indoors this time. And in between all that I'm allowed to ride Kira in the school for 10 mins at a time, we're still only walking but it's nice to be back on board.

Hope the weather is not too bad... have fun all :)

Hopefully get the big fella back!
He went in for a routine op and nearly 2 weeks later hasn’t left horsepital 🙄
Be good to see the big furry fella.
Credit card is taking a bashing though 😱

Hope the big lad is home soon IHW. MP- enjoy your weekend, especially being back on board Kira.

Back to work for Millie. I clipped her again last night (can’t believe how fast it had grown back!) so she is ready to go.
I’ll tentatively trot Polly up and see what we’ve got.

Possibly Newbury races on Saturday for what I still call he Henessey even if it isn't and then doing a tack sale on Sunday. Not done a tack sale before so any hints gratefully accepted - ensuring plenty of change is one I need to remember. Good luck to those with outings and IHW hope your horse is home soon.

MP - I went to the rugby in Bath a year ago. Wasn't sure what to expect but I really enjoyed it! Have fun :)
IHW - Hope your big boy is ok.

I've got a quiet horse weekend, as per usual at the moment. I'm at the point now when I'd like to get my loan horse out to some arena hires / hacks but I've left my lorry sitting for too long so it now needs a new battery - muppet ;) I'm also off to the not-Hennessy on Saturday. I've only been racing a handful of times despite living in racehorse-heaven so I'm looking forward to it!

Enjoy your weekends everyone!

Ah that is how you spell Hennessy! Knew mine didn't look right. Have a fabulous day, Newbury racecourse has had lots of work over the past few years and it is a brilliant one as everything is so close together. Probably find me at the preparade ring deciding which ones would make nice show horses. I was lucky enough to parade mine there a couple of years ago which was huge fun.

I've just come back from indoor arena hire - it's the first time I've ridden in a week due to the BD Convention, her body worker appointment on Monday and then the treadmill yesterday. We were both a bit tight, but worked through it and I feel more prepared for our lesson tomorrow with our regular trainer. Then on Sunday I am dressage writing for a few hours - I've not written for this particular judge before, but have ridden in front of her quite a few times and always found her scoring/comments spot on, so it should be a useful experience.

Have a good time in London/at the rugby/at the races/with your horses everyone. I agree Newbury is so much better since all the work has been done - it is a redevelopment that has definitely been for the better. :) x

I've hurt my back, on top of all the other issues I have, so I'm benched. Its driving me mad. I cant do a lot at the best of times but now I can do next to nothing and I really want to drive. I'm full of enthusiasm after my lesson and wanted to capitalise on that. Sometimes it feels like I am cursed!

I hope everyone else has a lovely time though 😁

that's good to know! I can just about sit through a match on the TV (maybe twice a year...) so I'll give it a go. Watching Wales play in Cardiff is bound to be quite exciting anyway, and we can get the train so we can have a little glass of pop and be merry afterwards ;)

Darcy was off his face today as they were all being stupid about some tree felling going on in the distance but Kira wins the Cute Prize today, lovely to be playing with her again :D

Hope you feel better soon LW :(

This is causing some issues. No where near me or the ponies but it's causing dense smoke, enough so that riding is out of the question. Hopefully they can get it under control and the wind changes and pushes the smoke off us so I can get some riding done this weekend! It's near a horsey area so evacuations are ongoing. Not the best start to the weekend :/

We could do with spinning the world around for a few days so you can have our rain Northern.

By Sunday I need to work out how to get a mud plastered draft horse clean enough to have his feet done. He's not cooperative about baths, has a polar bear coat that is solid with mud (& other stuff) plus he honks!

Busy weekend. Working till 5 tomorrow, then need to clip a horse. Working sat am, then Trec in pm ( need to wash before we go). Sunday xmas fancy dress dressage to music.

All with 2 different borrowed trailers, as the lovely new one I bought has had to go back to the factory because its leaking.

Hope your horse is ok IHW.
Northern that looks awful. Hope it gets under control soon.
MP Kira is just the cutest.
Sorry about your back LW. Glad the lesson was good.

Have fun all those out and about!

Katie is taking Dolly to Eland for the NSEA Eventers Challenge Hickstead Qualifier and on Sunday I am having a jumping lesson on Amber. We have hardly jumped at all since August so hope she is not too over excited by it all.

Northern, hope it gets under control and you and horses are ok, please update when you can x

Thanks TFF :) The fire is a way West of us, no chance of it coming on our side which is comforting. Hopefully nothing starts in the National Park near us this summer, that always makes us very nervous! The weather looks dicey today, but hopefully they can keep it in containment lines. Most horses in the area are out, it's always a good way to practice how future evacuations will go though. Somewhat of a silver lining!

Ah Northern, the East coast is really getting a bashing recently! I hope the smoke clears for you.

I am going to watch something called Equestrian in the Park, which is arena eventing and it's a really big deal here. Maybe one day i'll ride there but until then I go along and watch my friends and enjoy a day of wine and nibbles in a nice dress. It's very civilized!

Around that, hacking the horses who have had a very slack week!

Well Dolly was meant to be clipped on Tuesday ready to compete this Saturday. YO has not been able to do it till this afternoon. She needs to stay in today to stay dry so she can be clipped. Then she is staying in tonight because they are all in at night now. And temps have plummeted. It may be a hold-on-to-your-hats experience tomorrow morning! Wish Katie luck

Well I can finally post about my exciting weekend plans - we (OH,me and little jockey) are all off to Devon on Sunday as my first born (pony) has been crowned overall performance pony of the year, won the whp section, pony club section, combined whp and dressage section and second in the showing section. Not bad for a pony that's generally only ridden at competitions by a borrowed jockey! Oh and jockey has won the £500 Top Spec prize for the most points for under 12! Me and jockey super excited, non horsey hubby less so!
