I am about to move yards (end of the month), and am really excited about it. The new yard is fabulous, masses of turnout, light/bright/big stables, menage etc etc. But ... the big downside is that my boy is going to be on his own.
The yard where he is currently has about 20 horses, most of whom he can see/talk to, even though he has an individual paddock (as he can be a bit naughty/rough with other horses/owners!).
He does settle ok to being in on his own, when he was on box rest, he took a couple of hours to settle initially but then was fine. He got quite worked up when other horses were brought onto the yard for grooming etc then taken away/turned out. But again his upset was only temporary.
Anyone moved in a similar way, from lots of friends to being home alone?
Any tips/hints/suggestions to help him settle.
Thanks all.
