I'm considering a move to Cheltenham for work and obviously want to take the horse with me.

I don't know the area at all and after having a look online Home Farm EC seems to be the yard for me.

Can anyone tell me what it's actually like? The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Thanks :)

Don't know it's character livery wise, but we go there for comps and like it very much. A smart set up with lovely arenas, carefully looked after and friendly people.

The yard is geldings only, right next to the train line (doesn't seem to bother the horses in the slightest tbh), grazing is totally flat so very little shelter. Can't imagine the hacking there is up to much at all as you are bordered by the train line, rubbish dump, Cheltenham and rather busy roads. If you have a box then you can get to good hacking up on Cleeve hill easily though.

Can you tell me anything else marmalade76?

There is a bridleway at the end of the lane if you carry on past the enterance which goes to Elmstone Hardwick where I believe there are more bridleways. Road work can be done around Brockhampton and Swindow Village, there are loops and the roads aren't hugely busy. I have PMed you also.

I compete there quite a bit. They have a livery yard which has a 20x30 school they can use but they pay to use the indoor.grazing seems ok but looks to flood a bit from what I saw when competing. There are comps most weekends so not sure how that would work if your trying to use the warmup? The owners are super nice though and comps are well organised
