Hi everyone, and merry Christmas! I’ve just come home for a three-week Christmas break, and have started to ride again.
my horse hasn’t been ridden for six weeks, so on the advice of my instructor I’m doing some light road hacking. We’ve only been out once so far but he’s absolutely loving mooching around the village.
I have my physio coming out soon for his regular treatment which I’m going to continue while I’m not riding so much, but I’m on the fence about saddle fittings. I’m keeping on top of his changeable gullet bar, and he’s not going to be doing anything for twelve weeks after I go home to uni (possibly nothing until the summer, other than some more light hacking over Easter).
I haven’t had much use out of my saddle since my last appointment, and my saddler is booked for the week I go home to uni- but what’s the point? Shouldn’t I just postpone to the start of summer, and have two or three appointments over that summer as he comes back into work?
I’ve been thinking of postponing if he comes back into work this week well. Only issue isI feel bad cancelling, and she’s an amazing help to everything I do. But I can’t really afford to have her out only to not ride for twelve weeks as he’ll only change shape again.
what do I do?

Will she do a basic remote consultation? In instance like this I'd have a look at photos etc, I know the saddle and horse, so know if the tree should still be a decent fit if the photos or videos don't look too far off. I encourage this anytime a horse has been out of work, then a more hands on fitting once the horse is back in full work (in other circumstances than yours!).

She’s absolutely fab and has been doing just that! Should I just postpone then?
