Hi

I have in that my 2yr gelding keeps mounting my 2yr old colt, i know this is only dominance play but the gelding is grabbing the mane to balance as he would a mare. This is causing obviously causing damage to the mane, i show them both so need this to stop.
Dont wanna put anything on the mane that will damage it more or harm the gelding but it needs to stop. i have tried some shop bought stuff and the gelding seems to not mind the taste of it. Grrr

Does anyone have any home made recipes that are safe to put in the mane?

It was recommended to me to use a hot spicy powder, like chilli powder, to put on my youngsters rug as he liked to chew it when he got bored- its supposed to be better than the shop-bought sprays and cheaper. Don't know how it would be in a mane though but I expect it would wash out quite easily!
