Home made saddle cloths?

I am thinking about making my mare a saddle cloth but not a clue what material to use or what padding to use has anybody made them and know what they are doing? Help and picture examples would be brilliant

I made one out of some quilting squares left over from another project. I just bought so polyester fill, couldn't tell you what the weight of it was, but I'm chuffed to bits with it, even if I did mismatch the squares. Havent got time to post photo now but I will later
