Home made stable disinfectants!

my boy is incredibly smelly and enjoys marathon pees in his stable so when i muck out its swimming! cuz of the cold weather the floor takes forever to dry even when i muck out early n bed down late! plust it ALWAYS stinks no matter what!!! I've looked around at some of the stuff for disinfecting and de-odouring on offer n some girls at my yard use lime powder but i've heard that's not good for horses respiritory tracts. can anyone recommend a homemade power/disinfectant that I can put down please? pref soemthing absorbant and cheap!!!

I don't know how horses would react so perhaps someone more in the know can answer but if the dog pees on the carpet/floor (he is getting on a bit!) I use a bicarb of soda solution to wash it down, completely removes the smell.

Not home made but I have just started to use Stable Zone powder and so far so good!
