as the title suggests a lovely home needed for a ridgeback bitch

she is six years old and come from a loving family, who due to personal reasons could not keep her.

i have tried for over a year to settle her here, but she is not coping with being here

she is good with children, dogs and cats, but can not be left on her own, if she is left she will do everything in her power to get out of the house, if she can not open the door she will eat her way out and has worn down teeth to prove it.
i have kennels and runs, she grabs hold of the bars and tries to eat her way out through the bars, it is distressing to watch, but i cant have her loose on the yard ( not my yard) my other dogs are happy out on the garden and will happily stay there all day, she will weave and wail, trying to get to me, she just stresses all the time she is not at my side

when she is out, she is a pleasure to be around and if she was happy here she would stay til the end of her days,
she needs a home where she can have company constantly, she is great in the car, if you could take your dog with you when you went out she would be ideal.
if anyone wants a big best friend get in touch, you must be able to offer a loving long term home with or without other dogs and plenty of freedom, as long as she can get to you if she wants to, she will be ok.
 
Oh this post so tugged at my heart strings. I lost my gorgeous ridgey girl almost 12 months ago and would love to take her. Sadly hubby won't let me have another dog (we have 2 rotties) and he is unmovable on that. I hope she finds a lovely forever home.
 
Wish I could but I already have one Ridgeback with seperation anxiety - she has got better but we had to convert our garage into an indestructable play room. She has a JRT for company but it is people she wants to be with. Hope you find a loving home!
 
thanks all, she will be here until i do, its interesting to hear of another with similar problems as i have had them for years and currently have 5 others, they are all very independant dogs in my general experience
 
She sounds very like my bitch, although not great with cats and dogs, just a wee stressy head and she has been seen by a number of trainers and even an animal communicator.

I could have written: "when she is out, she is a pleasure to be around and if she was happy here she would stay til the end of her days,
she needs a home where she can have company constantly, she is great in the car, if you could take your dog with you when you went out she would be ideal."

If the perfect home does not come along (she would be a great house pet for an older person) then she will stay here.

I've found crating her in the house in the quiet, dark helps sometimes?
