First of all lovely to see Big_Black_Beasty and FREESTYLER. Sorry to miss carthorse, and Well done to all.
My show was alright. Not amazing but pretty OK!
In the Novice Open, Rhiannon did a nice forward, error free test, scoring 68.1% and into the lead........yay!
Unfortunately out of the last half dozen, three higher scores went up.
So we finished 4th in a big class and with the first 3 qualifying by right I now have the horrible task of waiting to hear about the wild cards.
Will we or won't we get to the Nationals? Everythings crossed!
Then today, in the Elementary Open, she was doing a stonking test. She felt really uphill and engaged................................
until we got to the canter/walk transitions!
All three of them we fluffed badly.
I haven't really had her that long and we've just been working on loosening her up and in the canter/ walks or trot/halts I have to be careful not to prepare too soon or she anticipates and drops me. I guess on the day I just bottled it and didn't remember to wait until I was nearly on my marker until giving the signal to walk. Bu**er!
Even with 3 booboos we still managed a 7th place and 66.8% but I'm disappointed'cos it could have been so much more. The judge at C even leant out of her hut at the end and said 'shame', which was kind of her.
Never mind, another day tomorrow and we can all make excuses, eh?
Good Luck for those with regionals still to do.
