I've been out with my camera this morning as some people were asking to see the other foals. Now on this post, feel free to say absolutely anything you like about these foals (nice or nasty, I don't care

) as I bred them and own them personally therefore I take full responsibility for the way they look and the manner in which they are handled.

First off; registered APHA palomino; her stable name is Breeze. She is 6 weeks old now and truly a delight. Very speedy, full of life, foal.

And here is the delightful Legacy. She is shedding her coat and changing colour once again. She has grey dots and grey stripes and looks very funny right now. This 6 month old little girl is out of our little Connemara pony and by our lovely APHA Daddy.

And because I can, here's a piccy to show why the face of my little daughter's foal Cruise (no Meg didn't name him; his registered name is Cruisin' Actor) is all scratched.

And finally some of the other little "imports", complete with the same old scratches and bumps as Cruise.

Thank you Rosie; I think so too

Yep it is like baby-city down here

. They're great! I am sooo impressed with my little lot today; I have been able to groom every single one of them now and they absolutely adore it! I'm a very happy Tia today.

They look great. I see Legacy is gonna keep you guessing on her exact colour.lol

I'm particularly drawn to the darker palomino of your little imports...and lol at your daughters new foal. My welshie dives into anything edible like that. If she gets a bucket her front legs collapse and she's even been known to roll while her head is in the bucket eating.

What beautiful foals.

Makes me all broody - they grow up so fast - cannot believe that this month it is 2 years since I brought home a certain fluffy little coblett (word for a baby cob in my language).

Thanks Honey; yes they sure do like to get their head right into the heart of the food!

Yes time sure flies Theresa! Even just with Legacy I can't believe how quickly she has become almost like a real pony and not a foal.

Legacy, I would say, is definitely going to be grey - no roan unfortunately, however I am sure she will chop and change her colour for many more months

before she settles on her final colour. She's a real stocky little thing and I'm not sure what height she will get to but she is not far off her mothers height so almost positive that she will be taller than her mother.

The darker palomino is the one I bought to keep for a few years - she really is a nicely put together girl; she should be, she is a Foundation bred QH and was quite costly

That's exactly what I think when I look at your signature with your little dog in it - super cute pup!

They look beautiful Tia, you should be very proud! Well done. Are they hard work? xx (as if looking after any horse is easy

No they aren't hard work, it's just slow work. When you have homebreds it is so easy to handle them right from the word "go" but when you get little ones who really should still be with their mothers, who have been shipped thousands of miles away from their natural environment of never meeting a fence and you place them in fields, it is obviously a massive shock to them. I have been quite worried about a couple of my little imports recently because they looked so unhappy; I am so pleased that they don't look like this now and they are taking an interest in everything that is going on around them.

I finally managed to groom every single one of them today - something I certainly couldn't do a couple of days ago....however to get to the grooming stage, it takes hours upon hours over the course of a number of days and weeks to gain their trust, so it can sometimes become a little frustrating particularly if they injure themselves and you really want to get in there and deal with it. Anyone who has had foals who have never met humans before will likely say the same, once you finally find that "itchy spot" you seem to have them eating out of your hands - and that is one of the biggest breakthroughs you can make. I'm at this stage now and can you tell just how thrilled I am!

LOL @ you two! The darker pally is certainly a huge hit here! Everyone who meets her thinks she is stunning. She really is a very beautifully put together lady; one of the reasons I want to keep her till she is at least 3 so that I can see how she does, in fact, turn out. See I can be quite selfish at times!
