Anyone have any ideas on how to make a homemade anti rub vest?

Very heavy snow so struggling to get out to any shops :( Welsh b is feeling the cold so rugged but it's started to rub a little :(

Quite easy to make if you have pattern for the neck/chest - very simple design. I think the material you need is what my mother (a tailoress) called slippery satin, but not sure what the proper name is but you cou8ld try googlig it.

Is the rug clean? It seems to be cleanliness that affects rubbing more than anything.

Being ultra borng, you probably won't get the materials to make anything quicker than just buying one! I find the lycra vests good.

You could use the lining out of an old rug I guess but if making a vest go careful with the seams or you can just transfer the rubbing elsewhere.

Doing the bottom fastening at the front of the rug looser than the top one can help

As can a smear of show shine on the rubs to help the rug move more smoothly over the area.

If pony is indoors then folding up a towel and hanging it over the front of the rug can ease the rug off the shoulders a bit too

I used to buy scraps of sheepskin or someone’s old sheepskin buggy liner and sew it to the inside of my rug. Only on the lining obviously and that worked well.
