Homemade Horse Treats??

Hi there, I have a recepie for Carrot and Apple Cookie Horse Treats.

Vegetable oil
2 Large Carrots, topped,tailed,and grated
1 Large Apple
2 tablespoons Molasses
2 tablespoons self raising flour
4 tablespoons brown sugar and a little extra for topping
4 tablespoons bran
4 tablespoons Porridge oats
120ml cold water

Preheat oven to 200dc/400f/gas mark 6 reduce by 10dc if fan oven
grease 11 x 9 tin with oil
place all ingredients except water, in a mixing bowl and stir well then gradually add the water until the mixture becomes thick and doughy if it gets too wet add a small bit of bran. pour mixture into tin and spread evenly, sprinkle on a little brown sugar and then bake in the oven for 30 minutes. when ready leave to cool and cut into 35 squares, and store in an airtight container in the fridge.

I've made these a few times and they always turn out well, the horses seem to like them. Please remember that these must be fed in moderation though and never given to horses that are prone to laminitis. Hope you enjoy making them.:D

I haven't made Bella any 'proper' treats at home but I have hollowed out an apple and filled with some of her chaff and some bits of carrot and she enjoyed that when I made it. The ice licks are a good idea, I think I will try that in the summer :)
