Morning guys!

I'm hiding inside from the lovely Welsh wet weather and planning more tack room organising ideas.

Rugs take up so much room in my little space I'm going to hang them in the stable. My PRE is a saint and wouldn't dream of touching them...... the sec d colt is another matter but his wardrobe is currently considerably smaller so not such an issue.

Have any of you made your own? I was thinking just some rope through drainpipes?
Unless you lovely lot can think of anything more glamorous?!

Def the rope/ baler twine through downpipes for daily use. You can even rig them on a pulley so you can raise them.
Worth asking for a hanger type one for your birthday?
Agree tho that best not kept with yearling! :)

You could also try large coat hooks to hang the wither area on, so the rug can drop downwards (I have a few for overflow rugs in hay barn, or high up outside stable in case I need to park a rug for a very short while)

Otherwise, always keep the zippy bags they come in and brush off, fold and put away when not in use (summer etc). Store these in the large tubby boxes or similar.

I use an old plank of wood tie baling twine at both ends and hang from the rafters in my stables and there you have it rug racks, if you don't have rafters to hang from just put up some tie rings in your stable and attach baler twine or rope to hang your rugs on.

Rope over drainpipes works really well. I have 2 of them and they take a decent weight with several 6ft rugs over them. They're so useful I havent even bothered to put up my proper actual 3 arm rug rack...

drainpipes are good but if you have a horse that will play with the rugs the rugs slide off a bit too easily for my liking, I quite often find my pony in a nest of rugs in his stable
