Anyone got a recipe?? The bedding supplier I use (wood pellets) has a spray with tea tree, citronella and eucalyptus in it for hygiene, flies and smell. I don't have a fly issue in my barn and also thought it can't be hard/expensive to make your own so thought I'd try! Especially as one of my lot tends to get a mild cough when stabled. Tea Tree and Eucalyptus are obvious choices, but then doing a bit of googling I've also come up with lavander, pine oil, lemon oil...
Sounds like a nice idea anyway - I need to occasionally spray the pellet beds to stop them getting dusty so at the least this would make things smell better! The ones you can buy seem to be either fly related or with chemicals in them.
