Does anyone have any good homemade supplements (electrolytes, relaxing supplements, joint supplements) or any really cheap things that you can buy in your local supermarket that do the same job as the more expensive horse supplements?

If you buy pure magnesium oxide its cheaper than stuff branded as calmers..... also make camomile tea and when it has cooled pour it over your horse's feed as a calmer. Also i dry nettles and hawthorne and feed them to my horse who i prone to laminitis - they are good for circulation.

I also grow mint, comfrey and other herbs for horse use!

Good tip on the runny honey!

Where do you get powdered gelatin from? I have been looking for it in supermarkets and can only find expensive leaf gelatin...
