I am studying for a foundation degree in equine behaviour and part of the course requires us to do a research project. Mine is about homeopathy instead of conventional medicine for the treament of grass type laminitis. I have a questionnaire at http://www.freewebs.com/honey2910/ also any opinions or experiances would be helpful too.
Thanks for looking.

i have years of experience dealing with laminitis with it,s many causes. homeopathy or conventional medicine is little use to a horse that needs some relief before bedtime tonight. so if he is shod, deshoe ,one nail at a time[gently] if his heels are long, flatten them a little so that frog and heels are all bearing equal weight. check for redness in white line at toe,and stretched [wide] w line. trim at a steep angle back to w line. this will stop hoof wall from tugging on lamina. pain relief, anti inflams from vet. make him comfortable, no tight turns, and a little walk when he can for blood flow

I have used Homeopathy for laminitics with great relief to them. Obviously not instant but within the hour the horse has reduced heat in his hooves & moved better. After being on it for a couple of days was pretty much back to normal. I think this was due to the fact that it was at my first suspsion of him having lammi that I got the remedies into him. (Now I am not saying that has I given him bute then I wouldnt of ended up with the exact same response)
The remedies I used were: Aconite, Belladonna, Nux vom, Calc fluor, Hypericum, Bryonia in the potency 10M.
