Hey all,

I posted a short while ago about a Fresian cross my pal likes and asked for honest opinions - thanks to those who responsed :D
This is another she likes the look of, and probably a better age (other was 4.5 yrs and unbacked)??
She's looking for her first youngster to back and bring on with a view to keeping the horse long term. Specifically looking for a sports type horse she could potentially show jump with in the future.

All opinions will be greatly appreciated x

Ok the photos aren't very good and it may just be the angle but:
I think she has quite long upright pasterns at the front which probably won't withstand heavy work - what you friend wants to do with her?
I don't like the angle of her shoulder (too upright) and her neck looks quite short and low set which will work against her in a DR test.
Sweet face if slightly plain - however she could just be going through the ugly duckling stage.
Appears to have a good backend.

Why does your friend want something so young to back? I think 4.5 is a much better age then 2.75yrs which is way too young - especially with this filly who obviously still has alot of growing to do. She will need turning out for a few mnths at some point in the future to just grow.

I wouldn't be put off by something that was 4.5 and unbacked it just means the owners/ breeders have had the sense to let it grow up. I didn't reply to the other post,. but personally I prefered the other horse (black gelding) based purely on the add & photo I saw nothing to put me off, if you/she are worried about temprement go and meet the horse and handle him. He had better conformation and more ground work done with him for less money.

My honest opinion! :)
